Hello Everyone,

My name is Sucharita. I reside in Kolkata, India. I am a housewife and a mother .
I love to cook and try out different dishes from various parts of the world, especially India. Since I am a Bengali, I love to cook Bengali food too.
Indian food is vast. Every state has its own flavour and taste.I am a learner and try to cook foods from different regions in my kitchen.
Since I am a Bengali, I cook Bengali dishes predominantly. Bengalis are fish lovers and they love fresh -water  and brackish water fishes. What is different in the Bengali way of cooking fish is that we use mustard oil and most of the time, we fry the fish using turmeric and salt. We marinate them with a paste of turmeric and salt and fry them.
Hilsa and Chingri (Prawn)are our favourite.
Indian food is spicy, colourful and loaded with flavours. Each state has its own speciality. My state also has its own special dishes. Our fish dishes are a stand out like paturi, bhapa , macher jhol or fish curry are famous.
The way of cooking fish in Bengal is different than in other coastal parts of India. We use mustard paste a lot to cook our food and we also use raw mustard oil for pungency in our dishes.
Sweets of Bengal like rosogolla, payesh, mishti doi(sweet curd) are famous across the world.Apart from these, there are many kinds of sweets available and grandmothers of our households make mouth -watering sweets like naru or sweet coconut balls, barfi, sondesh etc. These are famous and are finished within a fraction of a second in our households.
There is a clear distinction in Bengali food though. Bangladesh, previously known as East Bengal has a spicier cuisine than West Bengal. Dishes from West Bengal arte sweeter in nature.
I love to cook and I have developed this hobby over a period of time after I resigned as a banker. In this website I try to post dishes which I cook in my kitchen and which my family and friends appreciate.
I also share some beauty regimens on my website. I mainly use natural ingredients for beauty regimen as I believe that they do not cause any side -effects and are pretty effective in the long run. In our daily mundane life, we need to take care of our largest organ which is the skin. Skin undergoes a lot of stress from pollution , sunrays, dust etc. So it needs special care.
My beauty rituals are simple and are mostly done with ingredients available in our kitchen.
I try to keep it user friendly, natural, easy and inexpensive as I believe that spending thousands on artificial beauty products is not worth it.
We should take care of our body both internally and externally. Internally through food and nutrition and externally through beauty therapies available at our disposal.
I have made a very small attempt to share my hobbies with you via this website and I write articles which I find relevant and useful. I hope you like my website’s content and enjoy reading and sharing.
