Method :
The dal palak recipe is very simple and quick. The step by step procedure of the dal palak recipe is shared here.
- First, wash the masoor or red lentil dal and clean t. The water should run clear.
- Boil the dal in a pressure cooker by adding turmeric powder and salt.
- Keep the boiled dal aside.
- In a wok, add oil or ghee.
- As soon as the oil is heated up, you should add the red chilli, bay leaf and cumin seeds.
- You should wait for the oil to get flavoured. After this, add the thing or asafoetida.
- Add the roughly chopped onions and wait for them to become translucent. The flame should be on medium as the onions should not get burnt.
- Reduce the flame after the onions turn slightly brown. Add Kashmiri red chilli powder to the oil. This is done to get a nice and vibrant colour.
- Add the green chilli. I have added 2 whole green chillies. If you want, you can add chopped green chillies also.
- Add the minced ginger and mix the onion and ginger for about 2 minutes on a low flame.
- Then add the boiled dal.
- Let the dal cook along with onion and ginger for about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and mix it.
- Lastly, add the spinach and let it wilt and release its flavour inside the dal.
- Kepp in=e dal in low flame and let it simmer for about 6 to 7 minutes until the spinach and the tomatoes have completely wilted.
- After this, take out the dal and garnish it with coriander leaves.
